These
pictures are from my remarkable journey to Lithuania to give workshops
and a keynote for the East European Association for Existential Therapy(EEAET)
conference held last September, 2012. These are scenes from my 3-day
workshop. As perhaps can be seen, the attendees were an engaged and
diverse group representing 5 or 6 East European countries, including
Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Russia, and Poland. The fellow I am sitting
with in the sweater was my
astute and gracious translator. Overall, the cross-cultural connections
were beautiful to see, both in small groups and in one-on-one
exchanges. It was also enthralling to feel the commonality of interest
in existential themes- meaning, purpose, fear, exaltation in and for
life--and the shared yearning for a broadening world community.
